Ariany

The Village of the Seven Windmills is a picturesque little village in the east of the island, rarely visited by tourists. Around 880 people (as of 2022) live in the village, which is located on the Puig de sa Cobetera, one of the highest elevations in the area. It was not until 1982 that the municipality of the same name became independent from Petra, making it the youngest municipality on the island.

It's almost as if time has stood still while strolling through the quiet town, which is located on the Ma-3340 provincial road between Petra and Santa Margalida. Even today, the inhabitants live from agriculture.
